They report only those stories that support their personal beliefs, or what they want us to believe.  They lied about Muslims celebrating after 9/11? , CNN took the video clip out where they affirmed this celebration on Anderson Cooper.  I watched it first, and heard the truth.  Then, I was trying to play it for my Husband, but the audio stopped right before they acknowledged the NJ celebrations.  Horrible!!!!!  I already knew CNN were frauds.  My friend went to Joplin, MO to help after the tornado.  A CNN reporter asked her to pretend she was a Joplin resident, who lost everything in the storm.  That's when I started watching FOX NEWS and MSNBC, but I'm not sure they're much different.  Honestly, I barely trust any news stories anymore.  I have to do the research myself, if I want true information.

You're right news isn't as reliable as we think, but channels like CNN are watched because we know their history. Force of habit I guess. CNN became a (really) famous channel when they covered the Gulf War 24/7. Channels have followers that aren't easily swayed.
