From recent documentary entitled "Islam: What the West Needs to Know." I learned there was a verse in the Koran referred to as the verse of the sword.SURA 9:5 JIHAD:
9:5 When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy, allow them to go their way. God is forgiving and merciful.
I'm not sure who might have conveyed this general meaning; however, it doesn't really matter. The passage exists in the Quran, and I'm confident that as with any religion, the followers are committed to their guide in its entirety or not at all. With this in mind, how can anyone construe this as a religion of peace?
Our leaders in an attempt to be politically correct, allow themselves to believe in a peaceful Islam religion. They try to lead us to believe the same, but we cannot afford this naivety.
