My husband and I are seniors over 65 with Medicare and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Our prescriptions are covered through Silver Script. there is what is referred to aas a "donut hole" in our coverage or a "coverage gap" after our total drug costs reach $2,970.00. (Going down to $2,850.00 in 2014) In this coverae gap we will have to pay up to 79% of the costs of the drugs until we rach $4,750.00.
We are the population who need prescription drugs the most and we are being cut off. Most people on Social Security cannot afford this and therefore will go without the drugs we need.
It was my understanding that under the Affordable care Act, this phase was to be eliminated, but our information for next year's benefits still includes this gap.
Is ther help in the future for us?
