Companies that make "pay day" loans target the poor, the elderly, and those segments of the population that are least likely to use banks, or who may not be able to get loans at their banks. Because the loans are high risk, the interest rates are very high.
City/state governments approve the opening of these businesses. Sometimes politicians and business people have cozy relationships to the detriment of the citizens.
I would like to know where would activism be more effective. At which level of government.
